Baby Bert's 1st Camping Trip

We went to Echo Lake in August 2011 with Bert's Mom, Step Dad, Greg, Shay, Emilee, Tressie, Devon, and dog Feebie. It was pretty fun but super hard camping with a baby and trying to keep him warm at night and cool in the day. And hard to keep things sanitary.

4 BERT'S

Here is 4 generations of Bert Page! To the left (wearing suspendors) we have Bert, next to him is Bert, in the Jazz jersey is Bert, and the baby (1 1/2 months old) well that is Bert also :) My baby is actually the 5th generation Bert Page. The 1st generation Bert Page is deceased. They all go by thier first name (Bert). I hope I didn't confuse anyone.

Finally a new post!

I have finally had the desire to blog again! I am going to try and blog atleast once a week to catch you up on what is going on with the Page family! Starting with: The 4th of July 2011!

Bert Ray is 2 days shy of 1 month old. We spent the 4th having a BBQ in our back yard with Bert A.'s Mom, step Dad, Tressie, Devon, Greg, Shay, Revis, and our next door neighbors Becky and Bryce. We ended up having a water balloon fight along with dumping buckets of water on each other. After the BBQ, we went to watch the West Jordan fireworks. That was the first time baby Bert experienced fireworks! He slept the whole time :)

Being a mom!

On June 6th, 2011, after 35 1/2 hrs. of exhausting labor, I became a full blown MOM!

Bert Ray Page arrived at 1:31 pm weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.

The most amazing moment was when the nurses laid him on my chest and you could see it in his eyes that he knew I was his mommy when I spoke my first words to him outside the womb. It was so beautiful!

He is a cute little boy and has brought so much happiness to my life.

Some of my favorite things:

  • the noises and moaning when he eats. So cute!

  • the little chunk of hair on his left ear.

  • the blonde, thick, silky hair on the back of his head.

  • his amazing smile!

  • when he thinks my cheek is a nipple! LOL

  • how much he loves his Daddy.

  • when he does one load scream out of the blue and makes me jump.

  • how long it takes for him to open his eyes when he is waking up,

  • when he falls asleep while I burp him.

  • how he already grabs my hair and pulls it.

I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON! I am so happy I had a boy and now I want my next baby to be a boy also.

I do really really miss a good nights sleep and the weight I used to be. Someday hopefully soon.

He is now in a size 1 diapers and 3 month clothing. He eats alot and is growing so fast, weighing almost 9 lbs. We are also putting rice cereal in his formula bottles. It helps him pass bowl movements because the Zantac he takes for reflux makes it hard for him to pass a bowel movement.

He has probably recieved over 20,000 kisses on his face and head because he is so kissable and his mom, dad, and grandma's just can't help it! Thanks goodness for grandma's! They have done so much for us and are always visiting and helping out. We are truely blessed with all our friends and family helping us out all the time.

Update!

Hey everyone!
I am now 24 1/2 weeks pregnant and feeling way too fat! Everything is going good! Baby Bert loves to kick and punch all the time. I can always count on him kicking the second I eat anything and as soon as I lay down to go to bed. It makes me nervous thinking that he may be a wiggle worm when he comes out! I have recently started feeling him when I am standing also. It used to be just when I sat or laid down. I have been having a bunch of Braxton Hicks contractions (10-15 a day). They are just alittle uncomfortable, thats all. I usually have them at work and assume it is from work related stress. I had a scare Wednesday and yesterday that really got me going. Baby Bert decided to settle down and not kick me at all. It started with a really busy and stressful day at work, then I realized after I got home that I hadn't felt him kick for along time. He didn't kick at dinner, he didn't kick when I layed on the couch after dinner, and he didn't kick when I went to bed. This baby kicks everyday, ALL THE TIME so I was very concerned...... even got teary eyed a few times. Finally at 4 am, after some prayer, I felt some flutters. I was still concerned because it wasn't the normal BIG kicks. I started thinking that maybe the ambilical cord might be wrapped around his neck or something keeping him from getting full nutrients and slowly killing him. I paid special attention at work on Thurday and still barely felt him all day. Talk about scary! I called my OB and the nurse said that I should be feeling, on average, atleast 6 kicks/movements an hour. She said that if I am not feeling that, then I need to go to Labor and delivery. So I got home and sat in my recliner praying for him to kick around and be normal again. Bert called me from work to see how I was doing, and baby Bert must have known his Daddy was on the phone cause he started kicking. And they were his big kicks, the ones that I can see if I watch my belly. Ever since then everything has been back to normal. I think I need to take it easy at work! I really think if you realized how much he kicks and then to barely feel him in a 24hr. period, you would be concerned too. We are all good though.... he has been kicking and moving the whole time I have been blogging :)

So my cute, little, 17 yr. old sister got Baptized last night! It was amazing! She had a lot of family and friends there to support her. One of my favorite parts about everything last night was the Spirit, her testimony and her cute crocodile tears. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. What a beautiful baptism. I am so excited for her! I hope there will be many more baptisms to come from my family members!

Baby Bert is kicking!

Hey everyone! It's been since September since I last posted- way too long! My life is now starting to settle down from the holiday's and my first trimester being pregnant! I am getting so excited!!! I am feeling pretty good, my pants don't fit, and it's a BOY! We found out Dec. 22nd, after going to Fetal Foto that we are having a little boy :) I was excited but I wanted a girl. Bert was being very nice and not acting exstatic for my sake because he knew I was a little sad. He wanted a boy! I am now at 18 1/2 wks and am starting to definantly feel him kick. It is so neat! I have Bert feel my tummy but he will never kick when Bert tries to feel. We are naming him Bert Ray Page V ( the 5th). So right now we call him baby Bert! I am starting to feel uncomfortable when I am bent over too long and I definantly have to be careful how I move because my stomach muscles get some real sharp pains......ALOT! My tailbone and lower back have been giving me some issues. I have pain in my tailbone area all the time, starting about a month and a half ago. I wonder if it will get better?
I have had a blast buying clothes for baby Bert, especially right now because all of the winter clothes are going on sale! Bert's dad, Bert and Janet bought us a crib and Bert's mom, Heather and Andy are buying the bedding for the crib. Talk about WAY expensive! We picked out a less expensive crib and it was still 350.00$. That's just for the crib no mattress included. And if I want to buy other parts to make it into a toddler bed and then into a full bed, it would have ended up being like over 600.00$ total. Holy Smokes! And the bedding for the cribs are like 100.00$ or more! I know it is a lot cheaper at Walmart but I don't feel like getting these kinds of things at Walmart.
I can hardly wait till baby Bert is born!

It's been awhile!

My last post was mid May and alot has happened since then! Especially in my garden!
Since May we have:

gone camping twice
went to my family reunion
went to my cabin twice
went to Lake Powell for a week
went to 8 wedding receptions
went to Hawaii for 10 days
and went to Idaho for Labor Day!

I have kind of missed alot of church........
I would have to say that the funnest, out of this list, was going to Idaho for 2 days over Labor day.

My Dad has a really good friend up in Idaho who has a Ranch. This Ranch sits on a MOUNTAIN RANGE which he owns. We spend our nights in this little "A" framed cabin sleeping in the same room as everyone else because there is only one room with 8 beds and a couch all cramed together! What a blast! The really nice thing about it is there is no cellular service anywhere on their privately owned mountain range, which means I can forget about the world and spend time with my husband, friends, and family while sucking up some fresh air!
We left straight from work on Friday to get there in time for the huge BBQ with all the town friends! Of course my Dad was the entertainment (singer) and me and my sisters and friends danced the night away in our cowboy boots, on the grass! I accidentally pantsed myself, and I won't go into detail! Lets just say I probably burned more calories than running a half marathon.
I slept well that night. Saturday was a chill, relaxing day. We went for a Rhino ride and I spotted the first deer. Eveyone in the Rhino owes me a shake! My cute toot sister, Aubrey, is doing the bow hunt, so of course she is in the back of the Rhino with her arrow ready! Sunday morning we went out hunting again in the Rhino and I spotted the first deer again! I think I have an eye for deer! We drove up on this ridge (8,000 feet) and I ended up spotting a deer from 1,150 yards. For those of you who don't know, that's 3,450 feet! I don't eat that many carrots. I think I get my eyes from my Dad. Thanks Dad. I could probably be a sniper in the freakin Army!
Anyway, enough bragging cause it's nothing great to brag about. We had a good time enjoying the quiet ranch, and you better believe we will be back next year for the Annual Labor Day BBQ @ Robinson Ranch!

P.S. Thanks Rick for letting us stay yet another year at the cabin. And also, thankyou for reheating that peach cobbler and not making me eat the WHOLE thing! Love ya
